Boats on Ganges in India

1 year ago --  Comments 0  - Hits 706

Black and white picture taken in Varanasi, India. The river Ganges is for Hindus a holy river.  On the shores of the river are the burning rituals of the deceased people. After the ritual the ashes are swept into the water.

A boat trip on the river is for many tourists the ideal way to view the burnings at a safe distance.
